Firebomb is a career criminal who uses a specially designed suit of armour to aid him in his crimes.
Born and raised in Detroit, Harry Olmec grew up to a poor family in a poor neighbourhood. He was driven by two main interests; mechanics and getting rich. Skilled with machinery, he used his talents to get ahead through stealing cars, picking locks, disabling alarms and the like. However, he had bigger plans, ones that went beyond just simple theft.
Using the takings from his crimes, Harry built himself an armoured battlesuit; nearly bullet-proof, it was equipped with a self-contained breathing system and a pair of flamethrowers. Calling himself Firebomb, he used it to he stage a series of dramatic armed robberies, netting himself a considerable amount of money in the process. Initially successful, he found himself at a loss when confronted by several superheroes; his suit was too slow and clumsy to get away, and he was captured.
However, en-route to prison he was rescued by the supervillain, Graviton who claimed to be impressed with what he had achieved. The pair of them formed something of an unlikely alliance, working together to pull off their crimes. As their successes grew, they decided to expand the group even further to allow them to pull off bigger heists, putting together a small but potent team of supervillains.
Now called The Renegades, the team suddenly had gone from a collection of capable but not exceptional indpendant villains to a surprisingly powerful group. In short order, the Renegades were a true force to be reckoned with, using their skills and teamwork to pull off spectacular crimes. While under Graviton’s control, Firebomb remained the second in command of the team.
Harry is an expert mechanic and engineer, traits that allowed him to design and build his customised armoured suit. The suit itself is a quite capable piece of weaponry; completely sealed and equipped with its own internal air supply, it is protected from extremes of temperature and atmosphere.
This is important, as the suit is also armed with a pair of high-powered flame cannons mounted on the arms. The cannons are capable of producing both regular streams of fire as well as concentrated explosive fireballs. The suits fuel supply ensure that the weapons have plenty of ammunition, more then enough to last through a long fight.
In addition to its weapons, the suit is well armoured, being virtually immune to small arms fire. However, it is also rather bulky, and has limited mobility. This has been something of a problem, as the suit often does not fare well in battle super-powered opponents.
Harry Olmec is a surprisingly easygoing and friendly person for a supervillain. Not motivated by a desire for revenge or some greater goal, he is instead motivated solely by his own greed. He does see himself as being a rather realistic person, not one to get distracted by running off on some crusade or the like. He does his best to get along with the rest of the team, even if Graviton’s standoffish manner makes him less then approachable.
He has two main interests; the first is machinery. For most of his life, Harry has been fascinated by machines and obsessed with finding out how they work and how to improve them. The second is fire; having witnessed the destruction of Detroit, he seems to have been affected by the spectacle of the massive conflagration. He seems to enjoy setting things on fire with his suit’s weapons, and is known to revel in the destruction he causes.
Harry is in his late 20s, with close-cropped hair, small eyes and heavy features. The suit itself is a rather striking bright orange colour, with flame details painted on the arms and legs. It covers his entire body, save for the head which is encased within an armoured transparent dome.
