Firefox is an independent superhero who’s chief concerns are fighting crime and how good he looks while doing it – but not in that order.
History[]
Moe Slizard is a mutant, one born with powers and abilities far beyond those of normal humans. However, unlike many others, he seemed to adjust well to the fact, learning to control his powers relatively easily. Realising that his abilities were not only rather powerful but also rather showy and dramatic, he decided that he would use them to aid others and fight crime.
Building a costume and calling himself Firefox, he began on what was initially a low-key career of super-powered crime fighting, looking to do his best. However, a combination of the showy nature of his powers, along with his charisma and good looks (at least, what could be seen through his mask) made him something of a media favourite in short order. Soon the media’s attention was on him and, more to the point, Moe found that he liked it.
In short order, he was making media appearances, doing charity events and anything else that would get him more airtime. At the same time, he was negotiating for various merchandising and tie-in deals; action figures, computer games, lunchboxes, bedsheets and anything else he could get his name onto. Similarly, a fictionalised version of him was incorporated into an animated series based off his adventures, with a movie in development.
At the same time, while he has continued to fight crime, he has endeavoured to do such while looking as good as possible. He tries to keep the fights highly visible and conspicuous, simply so the media and his adoring public can see him in action and get good footage of him for the nightly news. While he is yet to get to the stage where his desire for publicity over-rides his common sense, some are worried that it may only be a matter of time before he gets himself – or even worse, someone else – killed.
Powers/Abilities[]
Firefox’s mutation gives him the power to generate and control fire and allows him to use it in a number of ways. The first and most obvious way is that he is able to project blasts and streams of fire from his hands; similarly, he can also control and manipulate existing fires if available. His powers give him some ability to “shape” his blasts, allowing him to produce visually impressive effects or even “fire sculptures”
Besides fire projection, his mutation allows him to fly at high speeds, as well as generate fiery shields that protect him from harm. He has a very fine degree of control over his powers and seems to rarely have any collateral damage, despite their potentially destructive nature – a fact that he has publicly demonstrated numerous times.
Personality[]
Firefox is supremely egostistical. Rather self-absorbed, he tends to think that he’s the best thing ever to happen to the Superhuman world. He likes to show off in everything that he does, a fact that is helped by his rather flashy powers. He will never do simply what he can do in an over-the top, attention-grabbing way, and he likes to make sure that there is always a camera present.
When he’s not singing his own praises, Firefox relies on his own PR team to do it for him. They make sure that he is always portrayed in the most favourable light possible, gladly singing his praises. They also seem to go out of their way to not only overstate his good points, but to put down any other superheroes that may be stealing attention from him, but over-emphasising their negative traits or making up things about them.
Despite this, Firefox is still a decent person, dedicated to doing the right thing, fighting crime and helping the innocent. While he started out with good intentions, his ego seems to have gotten the better of him, making him forget the reasons why he does what he does in the first place.
Appearance[]
Moe Slizard is a handsome man in his early thirties with a square jaw, brown eyes and perfect teeth. He has short, neat black hair and is meticulously clean shaven. His costume consists of a bright red and orange suit with flame patterns, and a mask that covers part of his face.
