Green Thing is a superhero
Origin[]
Renowned biochemist and nature-lover, Jonathan Green was working in a secret laboratory in the everglades on a special plant formula. This formula would allow people to accelerate the growth of plants, thus wiping out hunger, but he was only able to give the plants physical aggression. He tried repeatedly, but still got the same results, until he managed to finally get it right, he thought. Soon, a group of men came looking for the formula for an unnamed buyer. John wasn't going to give up without a fight, he managed to fend off the thugs as much as he could, but it wasn't enough. The thieves managed to grab the formula, but John threw it out of their hands and it spilled all over him. He was soon in pain as he stumbled through the swamp while the thieves managed to escape empty-handed. Later on, the formula had somehow entered into his bloodstream and merged with his DNA. It started to change him, covering his body with a green, leafy mush and changing him into some kind of swamp monster. He lied dormant for a long period of time, but so woke up in the middle of the night. He had seen what he had turned into and eventually saw that he could speak and even control plant life. He thought that he could prove that he wasn't some kind of monster, just an accidental hero, to others and to himself. He works on a worldwide bases, hiding in secret and in plain sight, protecting the flora of the world. He's known to plant killing enemies as green guardian, the protector of plant life, the nature freak of a hero: The Green Thing. The Protectors heard rumour about a man made of living plants and had high hopes for him. They sought him out, offered him a place to call home and learn more about the things he could do, and he accepted their offer.

John can transform into Green Thing with just a thought, when he changes he gets wrapped in plants and vines until he resembles a large pile of mush and leaves with arms and legs.

- Pollution: His body is built like a forest, if he enters a polluted area for too long, his powers weaken until he reverts back to his original form.
