Magman is a fictional character created by Bobby Bussing. He was once a fireman who suffered a terrible accident, and gained extraordinary abilities and took on the alias "Magman". He is a well-known superhero and second in command to the Galactic Enforcers. He was also a prominent member within the Legion of Vigilance.
At age 11, Bryce Parsons wanted to be a firefighter. Every time he went with his parents driving, he would stare at the Fire Station as they passed by. By age 18, Bryce went to college and later got a job as a firefighter. He was fulfilled that he had become the very thing he wanted to be since he was 11. One day, Bryce and his team were called to put out a large fire out of Manhattan in a laboratory known for testing cosmic radiation. When he and his team got inside, they saw canisters with a "biohazard" sign on them, and the fire was spreading. Bryce then noticed the fire heading towards the canisters, he tried to warn the others, but it was too late, the fire made the canisters explode, engulfing the entire room. The next thing he knew, Bryce was on a hospital bed, and noticed he had a full body-cast on. He didn't believe he was alive, until the doctor came in, and told him the news. Bryce suffered very severe and critical burns on nearly 100% of his body, nearly all of his team died in the explosion except for the lieutenant who died on the way to the hospital, and that Bryce may have suffered some small radiation poisoning, and that the results of his condition should be in soon, and the doctor walked out, leaving Bryce with a lot to take in. Almost 8 months later, Bryce was released, and was all healed up to his surprise, although, he discovered the radiation poisoning may have cause some internal damage but the doctors made sure it would not pose a danger to him once he was released.
- Magman learned much later in his life that the radiation that affected him in the accident was the same type of radiation that gave Captain Cosmic his powers.
- CIA Officials tried to cover up what was the cause of the fire, and commented that it was "a freak electrical surge".
- Magman's unlucky number is 7, the number of members on his team that died in the accident.
- Captain Cosmic's further investigation of this accident led him to discover that the laboratory belonged to SCORPIO, and that there was a leak inside thelab that was going to release classified information, which leads to SCORPIO's involvement in the fire.
