Masque is a treacherous mercenary shapeshifter capable of disguising herself as virtually any other human.

HistoryEdit

With her abilities, Masque’s history is very hard to track down. It is known that she first appeared only a few years ago, offering her services to various other villains as a spy and infiltrator. Her powers make her very hard to detect, allowing her to infiltrate targets with relative ease and escape undetected. She very quickly established a reputation for being able to pull off seemingly impossible acts through her shape changing.

She recently came to prominence when she was hired by an unknown source (she rarely asks questions beyond if their money is good) to manipulate and humiliate Commander Philippines, purportedly in order to break his spirit. She has done this through a number of means.

Initially, she posed as his girlfriend, Bollywood Actress Sonja Amaraa and tried to disrupt their relationship and publicly humiliate him. Then she tried to impersonate his one-time sidekick Miss Philippines; however, he was able to see through her tricks. In a more despicable act, Commander Philippines was going to meet a terminally ill child as a part of the Grant-A-Wish foundation; Masque kidnapped and threatened the child, but the Commander was able to rescue them from her clutches.

Oddly enough, she has also on several occasions posed as a supervillian and fought Commander Philippines; on each occasion, she was defeated and driven off. It’s not clear why she did this, but presumably it was a part of her employer’s greater overall plan.

PowersEdit

Masque is a mutant with an innate ability to later her shape. She seems to be limited to only transforming into human forms, but can adopt a wide range of forms within that limit, covering virtually any extreme of human physiology. However, only her body changes shape; she cannot change her clothing, and as such, needs to adopt disguises for her separate forms. While she can adopt both male and female bodies, she seems to prefer to be female, suggesting that her “natural” form is indeed a woman.

Aside form her shape-shifting, she seems to have no other innate powers. However, she is very agile and fast, with excellent reflexes and keen senses. Additionally, she is trained in a wide variety of martial arts disciplines.

PersonalityEdit

Masque is very devious, underhanded and treacherous. She serves only herself, selling her services to the highest bidder. Furthermore, she does not guarantee her loyalty, while she will do her utmost to fulfil a task, at the same time, she is more then willing to back out if things go bad for her. She also knows not to press an employer for details and knows not to ask too many questions; she only takes what she needs to get the job done.

She is an expert manipulator, a master of human psychology and emotions. She likes to play mind games with her opponents, taunting and easing them and using their emotions against them; in many ways, she prefers to psychologically torture her foes rather then physically harm them. She seems to be strangely off-form against Commander Philippines, however, allowing her intended target to get the better of her on numerous occasions.

AppearanceEdit

As a shapeshifter, Masque’s true form is hard to pin down. She has often been observed in the form of an exotic, alluring, dark-skinned woman with mixed features and long dark red hair, however, it is not clear if this is her normal form or merely another disguise.
