Re-Pete is a mutant supervillain with the power to make a duplicate of himself, in addition to several other minor abilities. He is the leader of the small time villain group, Three Man Crime Wave
Pete Miller’s early years were unremarkable and uninteresting; a bit of an introvert, he didn’t have many friends when growing up, preferring instead to be by himself. While his parents encouraged him to meet others and expand his interests, he seemed to be more content to wander off and be on his own – or, more to the point, with his imaginary friend, Peter.
It was when he was twelve that he first found out the truth about “Peter”. Waking up one night, he found that there was a copy of himself lying in bed next to him – an identical twin. When this twin awoke, he somehow instinctively knew that they were his copy; a part of him that was equal to him in every way. After some experimentation, he found that he could combine and separate with this twin at will.
The two of them began to use their shared ability to improve their lives; they would split schoolwork and chores, alternating between who went to school and who got to stay home. Going into their teens, they would do other things; one of them going on a date while the other stayed home, or even two-timing on girlfriends.
Unfortunately for Pete, somebody found out what was going on. He was quickly branded as a mutant, and forcefully ostracised from his circle of friends and associates, whit many labelling him as being “unnatural” and “disgusting”. Angered, he turned on those that he turned on him, using his abilities to strike back at them and torment his would-be tormentors. He found that he liked using his abilities like this, to take advantage of others.
After a brainstorming session, Pete come up with the idea of turning to super villainy; after all, he had super-powers and knew how to use them. Calling himself “Re-Pete” he began committing crimes, taking advantage of his powers to overwhelm and surprise his foes. While successful, he still felt that he could do more; to that end, he recruited a pair of villains with similar powers, Shotoclone and Superfluous Man II to firther aid him.
Re-Pete has the ability to split himself into two separate but equal beings, each retaining all the skills, abilities and knowledge of his combined, normal self. While often referred to as duplicates, the truth is that each is no more a copy then the other is the original. He has spent many hours practicing and drilling himself while duplicated to allow his two selves to work together to their fullest extent. Furthermore, he and his duplicate have some sort of unseen mental link that allows them to stay in contact, regardless of how far separated they are.
While his duplication is his most prominent ability, they are not the limit of his skills. Secondary mutations make him far stronger and tougher then the normal human; when working together with his copy, he is a quite formidable opponent.
Re-Pete is a rather strict and determined man, but he is not entirely humourless. He tries to get along well with others, specifically the members of his team, and does his best to encourage them to get along and work well together. He is a good planner, and does his best to take advantage of his abilities and those of his team.
In truth, he is actually somewhat introverted and has problems with getting along with others outside his small circle of associates, mainly the members of the Three Man Crime Wave. About the only person he can really open up to is himself, or, more to the point, his duplicate. He often feels lonely when he is combined, while when split, he becomes much more animated and open.
He’s his own best friend
Peter Miller is an entirely unremarkable man in his early thirties. He has strong features, with blue eyes and short black hair, but tends to blend into a crowd. As Re-Pete, he wears a costume divided in half vertically; one half being red and the other blue.
When split, his duplicates are mirror-images; one being left-handed, the other right. The costume has been specially designed to reflect this; one copy has an all-red costume, while the other’s is all blue.
